THE ENDANGERED ELEPHANTS

The Elephants of Africa live in areas that are south of the Sahara Desert. They usually live in matriarchal herds migrating, comprised between 8 and 12 elephants. African elephants, now, are considered endangered, although claim that in recent years the population has grown in number.

They  eat roots, grass, fruit, and do so in large quantities. An adult elephant can consume up to 135 kg of food in one day. These animals don`t sleep much, and travel long distances in search of the huge amounts of food.

The elephants are endangered by excessive hunting and deforestation. Also affected some pollution because if the water is contaminated can take poison.

Must save African elephants is necessary for the situation of danger of these animals with a brake. This is because if the African elephant disappear, unbalance the ecosystem have consequences for other species and also for people.
